Another Wednesday, another list of earthly desires! Every Wednesday I unpack my bag of wants, throw them at the Internet and see what sticks. Let’s see what’s on the menu this week:
1. A Second Go at Stitch Fix
OK, so right after I unpacked my first Stitch Fix box I said to myself “Self, is this something we should do again?” And at the time I said “No, probably not. I feel so disappointed in us.” You know, that feeling you get after trying on five items of clothing that don’t fit quite right? That feeling has passed and been replaced with hopeful optimism. Now I’m kind of champing at the bit for another go at it. In reality, I need to clean up my Pinterest board a bit and get some good direction for my stylist before I can attempt a more successful Fix. Otherwise I’m just potentially wasting my hard-earned dollars and not listening to Yoda.
2. Loose-Fitting Sweaters That Are Not Too Big
The dream, right? No one likes to feel strangled by their sweater but I have trouble finding that perfect mix of fitted and loose. Most “boyfriend-style” clothing just looks too big on me because I have no curves to fill it out and going a size up looks like I’m playing dress up. I just want to feel like I’m wearing a blanket but look like a functioning adult. Is that too much to ask? See also: nice things to layer underneath those sweaters.
3. Litter Robot
These things are awesome. I had a roommate several years ago who had one of these and my cat (and I) benefitted most certainly from it. It looks like cat time machine, but it’s actually a mechanized rolling litter box. After your cat does its business and hops out, the machine rotates to sift out the ‘waste’ (ugh) and deposit it in a sealed compartment. All you have to do is remember to empty out the compartment. It’s super expensive ($400 for the basic model) but I feel that the pros might outweigh the cons here. Pro: Don’t scoop fecal matter with a 1-foot plastic rake anymore. Hm. Your ideas are intriguing to me and I wish to subscribe to your newsletter.
4. Spring
It’s the end of January. It hasn’t even been a particularly tough winter but I’m ready for this crap to be over. I’m tired of putting on my giant jacket and trying to tame the static in my hair. I’m super ready to see daylight for myself on a weekday instead of through a window at work. I hate driving in gloves because that’s when I eat my after-work car snack. We moved into a our house last fall and I’m ready to do some spring gardening. There are bushes to be planted, y’all. I’m not a person who romanticizes winter – ohhh, look how beautiful and white! – I just want it over and done with. Next season, please.
